UDig NY to Host 811 Day Celebrations Across Upstate New York

East Syracuse, NY (July 31, 2023) – UDig NY announced today that it will host celebrations across Upstate New York in honor of 811 Day, the annual initiative on August 11 to encourage anyone with an excavation project to place a location request before digging by calling 811. Events will be hosted by UDig NY Field Representatives and volunteers from UDig NY’s regional Damage Prevention Councils.

“811 Day is an important reminder for anyone with a project that involves digging to do the right thing and protect themselves and their community,” said UDig NY Executive Director Kevin Hopper. “I am excited for the celebrations we will be hosting across the state and hope people will stop by to learn more about safe digging practices.”
