UDig NY to Host Community Events Celebrating National 811 Day
(August 4, 2025) UDig NY, the nonprofit 811 contact center serving Upstate New York, is hosting community events across the state in honor of National 811 Day. August 11 (8/11 on the calendar) serves as a reminder for anyone planning a project that involves digging to notify 811 so that underground utilities can be marked out with flags or paint, helping them to dig safely. In Upstate New York, anyone digging should call 811 or place a location request online at UDigNY.org at least two full working days before their planned start date.
For 2025, UDig NY employees and Damage Prevention Council (DPC) members will be hosting or participating in the following community events and activities:
