UDig NY Announces 2025 Damage Prevention Conference & Expo Date, Venue
EAST SYRACUSE, NY (March 26, 2025) – UDig NY, the East Syracuse-based nonprofit that provides the 811 service for 55 New York State counties, has announced the date and location for its 2025 Damage Prevention Conference & Expo. The main event will take place Wednesday, October 22, at the Oncenter in downtown Syracuse, New York.
“Over the past five years, the Damage Prevention Conference & Expo has grown into an event that draws stakeholders from every group involved in protecting underground infrastructure from damage resulting from excavation activities,” said UDig NY President & CEO Kevin Hopper. “The conference serves as an opportunity to share ideas, learn about the latest technology, and work together to address the toughest challenges facing our industry today. We are excited to bring this event to Syracuse for the first time, and I look forward to welcoming industry leaders from across the state and the country to Central New York this October,” Hopper said.
While this is UDig NY’s fifth annual Damage Prevention Conference & Expo, it is the first time the event has been hosted in Central New York. Previous conferences were held in Poughkeepsie, Batavia, Whitney Point, and Ballston Spa.
The 2025 Damage Prevention Conference & Expo will feature educational offerings valuable for utility and construction managers, excavators, utility locators, and municipal officials. The event will feature opportunities to earn Certified Excavator Program (CEP) certification or renewal. Many sessions will also qualify for additional professional CEUs.
The event will be free for professionals to attend. Additional information about sessions, credits, and registration will be posted on UDigNY.org/Conference in the coming weeks.
In addition to educational sessions, the conference will feature exhibitors, equipment displays, and opportunities to network with professionals in the utility, excavation, construction, and underground utility locating industries. Companies interested in participating in the conference as vendors can find more information at UDigNY.org/Vendor.
In addition to the annual Damage Prevention Conference & Expo, UDig NY provides many other educational opportunities, including resources for homeowners planning DIY projects, BOCES, trade school and high school students, and children.
